La Palma is also the host of a very broad fauna. There are as well endemic animals. The black bird which is often found in the European alps calles "Graja" does not live on other canarian islands than Palma. You often can see them flying in thermic above 400msl (1300ft). If you have seen Hichkocks film "Birds", you can imagine the picture.

There are no poisening animals on La Palma, also no snakes. There is an animal (see picture below) which lives in the ground but can come up during wet weather. I'ts stick is painfull. Therefore I recommend to wear gloves if you work in the garden.
